There is a reason this 4-500 year old old stately live oak tree on Johns Island, SC is called "Angel." But not what you think. The oak derives its name from the estate of Justus Angel and his wife, Martha. Local folklore tells stories of ghosts of former slaves appearing as angels around the tree.
